SILICONE AS A MATERIAL The material silicone forms the basis of many insulation and sheathing materials and of- fers countless advantages. In addition to their extreme temperature resistance, silicone cables have a high tear resistance, are very flexible and robust at the same time. In order to be able to guarantee these properties, Kromberg & Schubert has a wide range of silicone compounds at its disposal. In addition to the standard compounds, we offer a wide portfolio of silicone compounds for your customer-specific requirements. When doing this, we focus on the use of future-proof materials and develop in-house formulations that are particularly convincing due to their demonstrably good processability. BATTERY CABLES As an internationally operating manufacturer of special cables with 120 years of experi- ence, we support our customers with a great deal of know-how in consulting, develop- ment and production. In order to guarantee the usual high quality, we manufacture our products by the metre in accordance with UL, ISO, CSA and cUL. Areas of application Battery cables are used in the low-voltage range and are used for wiring the battery pack. HIGH-VOLTAGE CABLES Kromberg & Schubert has been a specialist in the development and production of high- voltage cables for electromobility since 2008. Areas of application Our HV cables are used in electrically powered cars, but also in commercial vehicles such as construction and agricultural machinery, buses and trucks. In addition, high-voltage cables are increasingly used in means of transport by air or water. Control cables Electric vehicles require high-voltage cables for the individual units, such as oil pump, air-conditioning compressor or charging cables. 9
GROUND STRAPS Ground straps have become indispensable in the automotive and industrial sectors and are used for a wide variety of tasks. Areas of application Their functions include, for example, conducting large currents, discharging EMC interfe- rence or static charges, radio interference suppression and the compensation of potential differences. FLAT CABLES Laminated copper bars lying on top of each other, protected by a high-quality, special PVC, PUR or silicone insulation: that is the laminated flat cable from Kromberg & Schubert. As flexible as the cable is, it is suitable, for example, for laying within massive busbar systems, for all electrical connections in control cabinets or also for connecting the individual battery cells in electric vehicles. FURTHER AREAS OF APPLICATION Silicone cables are also used outside the familiar areas of application, such as the auto- motive industry. Areas of application The areas of application of silicone cables in industry are, for example, in household ap- pliances, lamps or heating and high-voltage cables.But they can also be found in rolling mills, in mechanical engineering and shipbuilding and in medical technology. Since the areas of application are very numerous and very different, Kromberg & Schu- bert has a wide range of different silicone compounds.
